If the heating oil storage tank leaked, cleanup is required by regulation. There is a fund administered by NCDENR (Trust Fund) that reimburses for eligible cleanup cost for leaking underground storage tanks. There is no such fund for leaking aboveground storage tanks.
Generally, cleanup is comprised of tank removal and removal of heating oil contaminated soil. Laboratory analyses of soil samples are required to confirm successful cleanup or otherwise direct further actions required by NCDENR.
Cohesion has over 18 years experience cleaning up leaking underground storage tanks.
Cleanup costs reimbursable by Trust Funds may be fronted or financed by Cohesion so that potential cash flow crunches to sell property are avoided. Cohesion can help with cleanup and assist with all eligibility applications and cost claims.
